Tension is mounting in Igboho, Oyo State, following a strong warning issued by Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, over rising cases of alleged kidnapping and insecurity in the area.
In a viral video circulating on Saturday, Igboho was seen addressing members of the Fulani community alongside traditional leaders and local stakeholders.
The activist expressed outrage over recent incidents, including the alleged killing of a pregnant woman and a ransom bearer by suspected kidnappers.
“You cannot be kidnapping people in our hometown,” Igboho declared angrily. “A pregnant woman was abducted and killed, and even the person who brought ransom was not spared. This must stop.”
He emphasized that his restraint so far was due to appeals from traditional rulers but warned that patience was running out.
“I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen. Talk to your people,” he cautioned.
In a more forceful stance, Igboho issued a two-hour ultimatum demanding the immediate release of abducted victims, including women and children reportedly taken overnight.
“I am giving you two hours to release those kidnapped. Enough is enough,” he stated.

In a related development, another video showed Igboho leading his followers into the Oyo National Reserve Park, which he alleged has been overtaken by armed herders.
He claimed that the area, once used by local farmers, had been converted into a settlement for cattle rearing.
“This land belonged to our fathers. Now it has been taken over. Once we rescue the victims, we must not see any illegal settlement here again,” he added.
The development has sparked fresh concerns over security in the region, as residents call for urgent intervention by government authorities and security agencies to prevent escalation.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official response from security agencies or representatives of the Fulani community regarding the allegations.
Asenexpress will continue to monitor and provide updates on this developing story.
