
Nigerian troops under the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled coordinated attacks launched by suspected ISWAP militants on military positions in Buratai axis, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.
According to a statement released by the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni, the attackers struck in the early hours of June 19, 2026, targeting troops’ locations at Dusten Kura and Chara Road.
The statement noted that the terrorists, identified as members of ISWAP, attempted a coordinated assault but were quickly detected through intelligence support and met with superior firepower from ground troops.
The operation was further strengthened by aerial support from the Nigerian Air Force, which conducted precision strikes and surveillance missions that disrupted the attackers’ formation and forced them into retreat.

“The prompt and effective employment of the Air Component of OPHK proved decisive,” the statement added, noting that the synergy between air and ground forces ensured the successful repulsion of the attack.
Military authorities confirmed that no casualties were recorded among Nigerian troops, while the attackers suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against insurgents and ensuring lasting peace in the North East, urging residents to continue providing timely intelligence to security agencies.
