
Bayelsa Queens are set to part ways with head coach Whyte Ogbonda following their failure to retain the Nigeria Women Football League title.
The Prosperity Girls finished second at the NWFL playoff in the 2025/26 season after a goalless draw with Rivers Angels on the final day. They ended the tournament with eight points from five matches, losing the crown to Edo Queens.

According to reports, the club has decided to relieve Ogbonda of his duties after reviewing the team’s performance over the campaign. An official announcement on his future is expected this week.
Ogbonda led Bayelsa Queens to their eighth NWFL title two years ago.
