
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old security guard, Abraham Aneka, for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl and threatening her with a locally made firearm in Abule-Ijoko area of the state.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, Police Public Relations Officer, said detectives from Agbado Division made the arrest on June 10, 2026, after a swift, intelligence-led operation. Police recovered a single-barrel local gun allegedly used by the suspect to intimidate the victim.
According to the police, the incident happened on the night of June 9, 2026, while the teenage girl was returning home. The suspect, armed with the firearm, allegedly accosted her, threatened to shoot, and forcefully took her to his residence at Abule-Ijoko where he sexually assaulted her.

A family member reported the case at Agbado Division in the early hours of June 10, 2026. Police said detectives moved immediately and arrested Aneka at his home. The scene of the crime was also visited as part of ongoing investigation.
Preliminary findings showed the suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor without her consent and attempted to rob her of her belongings. The victim was issued a medical form and taken to a hospital for examination and treatment.
The Command confirmed the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation. The suspect remains in custody and will be charged to court at the end of investigation.
