
Cristiano Ronaldo says Portugal’s World Cup preparation is complete after his side edged Nigeria 2-1 in a friendly on Wednesday at the Estadio Dr Magalhaes Pessoa in Leiria.
The Portugal captain featured for the full match as the Selecao wrapped up their final warm-up game. Pedro Neto opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Akor Adams equalized for the Super Eagles before halftime. Francisco Conceicao netted the winner in the second half to seal the victory for Portugal.
Reacting on Instagram after the match, Ronaldo posted a picture of himself in action and wrote, “The preparation is done. Eyes on the World Cup.”

The win capped off a strong run of friendlies for Portugal, who also defeated Chile and the USA in the build-up to the tournament.
Portugal are in Group K at the 2026 World Cup and will face DR Congo, Colombia, and Uzbekistan in the group stage. Their opener against DR Congo is scheduled for June 17.
