Calvin Bassey believes Nigeria should have beaten Poland after the Super Eagles let a 2-2 draw slip away in Wednesday’s friendly in Warsaw.
The Fulham defender said two late goals in each half cost Nigeria the victory. Terem Moffi put Eric Chelle’s side ahead early, but Kacper Potulski equalized just before the break.
Paul Onuachu restored Nigeria’s lead in the second half, only for Przemysław Wiśniewski to strike deep into stoppage time and rescue a draw for Poland.

“We should have got the win. Two late goals in both halves. It shows there was something we could adjust,” Bassey told reporters in the mixed zone after the game.
He also pointed to disrupted preparations as a factor, noting that several players arrived late to camp. “A lot of us had different arrival times. A few of us joined camp yesterday, so it is good to get some minutes in the legs,” he added.
The result leaves the Super Eagles with work to do ahead of their next friendly against Portugal in Leiria.
