
The Ogun State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into two unidentified male suspects apprehended during a security operation in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode.
The suspects were initially arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Forest Security Service during a routine patrol and subsequently handed over to the police for further interrogation and profiling.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that preliminary investigations are already underway to establish the identities of the suspects and uncover the motive behind their presence in the forested area.
According to him, the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen surveillance and clamp down on suspicious activities within the state.
“The suspects were intercepted during a security operation and handed over for further investigation. Preliminary inquiries are ongoing to determine their identities and the circumstances surrounding their activities,” Babaseyi stated.
