
Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have arrested a suspect linked to the killing of a man during a violent altercation in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on May 23 in Bomo village, where two residents, Sani Haruna and Bashiru Saidu, were involved in a fight. Security sources said troops from Sector 1 of Operation Safe Haven arrived at the scene to find Haruna with serious stab wounds allegedly inflicted by Saidu.

Haruna was rushed to a medical facility in Miango for treatment but was later confirmed dead by medical personnel. Following the attack, troops working with the Vigilante Group of Nigeria launched a search operation and later apprehended the suspect.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect is in custody and undergoing investigation for possible prosecution. They urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and security across Plateau communities.
