
Sunshine Stars U-19 head coach Adenike Ayeni says he is targeting the 2025-26 President Federation Cup title after guiding his side to a shock win over NPFL club Niger Tornadoes.
The Akure-based team pulled off the upset in the Round of 64, eliminating the top-flight side and sending a statement in this year’s competition.
Speaking after the match, Ayeni said the victory would not lead to complacency. He stressed that the team remains focused on the task ahead and will treat every game with the same intensity.

“We are not going to be complacent. We will approach every game as it comes and remain focused on both the Federation Cup,” he told Karenkossnews.
Ayeni added that lifting the trophy is his main target, drawing on his experience as a former Sunshine Queens captain. “My target is to lift the trophy. I have done it as a player and I wish to do it again as the U-19 head coach,” he said.
Sunshine Stars U-19 will discover their next opponent once the remaining Round of 64 fixtures are concluded.
