A tragic incident has unfolded in Abuja as a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has allegedly killed his father following a heated altercation at their residence in the Guzape area of the Federal Capital Territory.
The victim, identified as 53-year-old businessman Adimike Godwin, was reportedly attacked on Friday night during a confrontation with his son, who had recently returned from a club.
Sources close to the family disclosed that the deceased was a prominent electrical dealer and an active member of the Electrical Dealers Association of Nigeria (EDAN).
He was known to operate businesses and own properties across Lagos and Abuja, frequently traveling between both cities.
According to reports, the argument between father and son stemmed from financial disagreements. The son allegedly accused his father of being unfair in the distribution of wealth, comparing his situation to that of his peers whose parents provided them with luxury items such as cars.
The disagreement reportedly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the father was stabbed multiple times.
