Nigerian music stars Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tems have been nominated for the 2026 BET Awards.
The award ceremony will hold in Los Angeles on June 28, 2026, and will be hosted by comedian Druski. It will air live on BET.
Nominations for the annual awards were announced on Tuesday, with several Nigerian artistes recognized across different music categories. Asake and Wizkid earned a joint nomination in the Best Group category following their collaborative project and a string of chart-topping releases.

2026 BET Awards: Wizkid, Burna Boy, Asake, and Tems Score Major Nominations
Tems secured three nominations, making her one of Africa’s most celebrated nominees this year. She is up for Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the BET Her Award for her song First, and the Viewers’ Choice Award for Raindance, her collaboration with Dave.
Burna Boy was nominated in the Best Collaboration category for his feature on Gunna’s hit single WGFT.
The BET Awards remain one of Black culture’s most prestigious international platforms, celebrating excellence in music, entertainment, and sports.
