Former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly on the verge of becoming the next manager of Manchester City as the club prepares for life after Pep Guardiola.
Reports in England claim that Maresca has already reached a verbal agreement with the Premier League champions and is expected to sign an initial three-year contract with the club.
The Italian tactician is said to be Manchester City’s preferred candidate because of his close connection to Guardiola’s football philosophy. Maresca previously worked within City’s coaching staff and is highly respected by the club’s hierarchy for his tactical approach and style of play.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also reported that an agreement is in place between both parties, with official confirmation expected soon.
Although neither Manchester City nor Maresca has publicly confirmed the move, the reports have intensified speculation over Guardiola’s future at the Etihad Stadium after years of success with the club.
Guardiola had earlier dismissed rumours suggesting he was preparing to leave Manchester City, insisting he remains focused on his role. However, discussions surrounding a long-term successor appear to have continued behind the scenes.
If the deal is completed, Maresca’s appointment would signal the beginning of a new chapter for Manchester City as the club looks to maintain its dominance in English and European football.
