
The Nigeria Police Force has commenced a full-scale manhunt for unidentified gunmen responsible for the brutal killing of a couple in Asarara village, located in Kebbi State.
According to the state police command, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, sending shockwaves across the quiet rural community.
The victims, identified as Muhammad Haruna and his wife, Habiba Abubakar, were reportedly attacked and killed in their residence around 5:30 a.m.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, Bashir Usman, stated that investigations are already underway to uncover the identities of the assailants and bring them to justice.
He disclosed that the remains of the victims have been deposited at a hospital in Birnin Kebbi for examination as part of the ongoing investigation.

The police assured residents that security agencies are actively working to restore calm and prevent further incidents.
Authorities also urged members of the public to support ongoing efforts by providing credible information that could aid in tracking down the perpetrators.
Residents of the community described the late Muhammad Haruna as a peaceful and quiet individual, noting that the attack came as a complete shock, as there were no known disputes linked to him.
The unfortunate incident drew sympathisers to the family compound as news spread, with many expressing grief over the loss. The deceased couple is survived by six children four boys and two girls.
Security operatives have reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice is served while appealing for calm and cooperation from the public as investigations continue.
