Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dismissed criticism over his team’s Champions League celebrations, insisting the squad has already refocused on their next crucial Premier League fixture.
The Gunners booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in two decades after a thrilling victory over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium.
The result sparked emotional celebrations among players, staff, and fans moments that drew criticism from former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney.
Rooney suggested Arsenal “celebrated too much” despite not yet winning the trophy. However, Arteta responded calmly, stating that every opinion should be “placed where it belongs,” making it clear the remarks held little significance to him.
Eyes on the Prize: West Ham First, PSG Later
Despite the historic European achievement, Arteta emphasized that the team’s full attention is now on their Premier League title push, starting with a decisive clash against West Ham United.
Arsenal currently lead the title race ahead of Manchester City, but the margin could shrink depending on upcoming results. Arteta stressed the importance of staying “present” and maintaining the same hunger that has carried them this far.

Confidence Ahead of PSG Showdown
Looking ahead, Arsenal are set to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final later this month. While acknowledging the French side’s quality, Arteta expressed strong belief in his squad’s ability to deliver on the biggest stage.
For now, however, Arsenal’s message is clear: focus, discipline, and finishing the job domestically before chasing European glory.
