
A strong windstorm swept through several communities in Suru Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Wednesday night, destroying houses, food storage facilities, and property worth millions of naira.
The member representing Suru Constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Faruku Abubakar Maisudan, confirmed the extent of the damage after visiting the affected areas. He listed the impacted communities as Sambera, Jeroki, Becinga, Nassarawa, Tunga Soja, Tauken Mage, Tunga Muminu Oro, and Ciwan Wanzam.
According to Maisudan, the storm left widespread destruction, displacing many families after their homes were either damaged or completely blown off. He confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident.

“My heart goes out to you in this difficult moment, and I urge you to accept it as a trial from Almighty Allah,” he told the victims during the visit.
The lawmaker assured residents that he would present their situation before the Assembly and Governor Nasir Idris to secure urgent government intervention. “I will ensure your condition is presented to the appropriate authorities so that immediate support can reach you without delay,” he said.
Officials of the Kebbi State Emergency Management Agency who accompanied the lawmaker also pledged a swift response and the delivery of relief materials to those affected.
