
Aston Villa and Freiburg have booked their places in the 2026 UEFA Europa League final after decisive semi-final second-leg wins on Thursday.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa produced a dominant display at Villa Park, thrashing Nottingham Forest 4-0 to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit and advance 4-1 on aggregate. The Premier League side controlled the tie from the start and will now play in their first major European final in over 40 years.

Freiburg joined them in the final after a 3-1 home win over Braga, completing a 4-3 aggregate victory. The German Bundesliga side lost 2-1 in the first leg but responded strongly on home soil to secure their spot in the showpiece event.
The Europa League final is scheduled for May 20, with Aston Villa and Freiburg set to battle for the trophy.
