Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Francis Duwa, in Benin City for his alleged involvement in a sexual exploitation ring and the unauthorized production of explicit content. The targeted police raid also led to the successful rescue of two victims, a male and a female, from the suspect’s residence.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the arrest to journalists, disclosing that the operation was triggered by a distress call from residents of Iyekogba Estate in the Oredo Local Government Area. Neighbors had raised alarms over suspicious activities and unusual noises emanating from the suspect’s apartment, prompting swift police intervention.
According to police reports, Duwa allegedly lured unsuspecting female victims to his apartment under the guise of pre-arranged meetings. Once inside, the victims were subjected to sexual exploitation, and explicit recordings were made without their knowledge or consent. Investigators further revealed that the suspect also sexually assaulted male victims.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Duwa did not act alone. The police spokesperson stated that the suspect allegedly collaborated with a syndicate of other male individuals who assisted in recording and circulating the explicit materials across various digital platforms for financial gain.
Officers recovered several incriminating exhibits from the scene during the raid. Following his arrest, Duwa was formally charged in court, while law enforcement continues to trail his fleeing accomplices.
Reacting to the incident, ASP Ikoedem urged young people in the state to shun cybercrime and exploitative syndicates, advising them instead to channel their energy into legitimate and legal money-making ventures.
