Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have intensified counter-insurgency efforts in Borno State, launching a strategic clearance operation targeting suspected Boko Haram hideouts in Kaga Local Government Area.
The operation, which took place on April 19, was carried out by troops of the 29 Task Force Brigade in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), according to security sources.
Advancing from Benisheikh, the troops moved through key operational routes including Qwayari, Karnakasari, the Camel Route, and the Mainok axis. The mission was supported by Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), and gun trucks.

The objective of the operation is to dismantle insurgent enclaves and restrict the movement of Boko Haram fighters within the area.
Although no direct encounter with insurgents was recorded during the exercise, military authorities confirmed that the operation remains ongoing as part of sustained efforts to dominate the North-East theatre.
Officials further noted that while the security situation in the region is relatively calm, it remains unpredictable due to sporadic attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP elements.
They, however, assured that troops maintain high morale and operational readiness to respond to any emerging threats.
