The Rector, Prof. Salihu Avidime, confirmed the incident in a statement signed by the Acting Coordinator of Public Relations, John Onimisi, describing Ojodomo’s death as a personal shock.
The rector recalled meeting the lecturer just hours earlier, noting that he appeared in good spirits and showed no obvious signs of ill health.
According to the statement, Ojodomo had no publicly known history of serious health issues, and colleagues said his sudden collapse came as a complete surprise.

Eyewitnesses reported that Ojodomo collapsed while addressing students during a lecture and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His sudden passing comes barely a month after the institution lost Dr. Barnabas Akuba, who had recently completed his PhD.
The polytechnic community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of two lecturers in such a short time. Ojodomo held Master’s degrees from Prince Abubakar Audu University and had recently defended his PhD proposal. He was widely regarded as an inspiring educator.
The institution extended condolences to Ojodomo’s family and the people of Igalamela/Odolu, praying for the repose of his soul.
