
The family of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has announced the passing of his mother, Hajiya Umma, who died on Friday after a period of illness.
According to the family, the late matriarch had been battling age-related health complications which worsened in recent weeks.
Her condition was said to have deteriorated further following reports of her son’s detention by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

Sources close to the family revealed that El-Rufai had been actively involved in overseeing his mother’s care prior to her death.
In a statement, the family prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
The development comes amid ongoing legal and political challenges facing the former governor, drawing public attention both to his personal loss and his current situation.
