A 29-year-old man, Quadri Mohammed, has gone into hiding after the mysterious death of his 26-year-old girlfriend, Precious Mogaji, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
According to a statement released on Monday by the spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, the police have launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
The incident reportedly came to light around 12:05 a.m. when a good Samaritan alerted authorities after discovering Mogaji lying motionless at the entrance of her boyfriend’s room.
Police officers from the Ojoo Division, including a patrol team and the incident duty officer, were immediately dispatched to the scene following the report.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim’s lifeless body lying on the floor at the doorway of the suspect’s room. The body was carefully examined, photographed, and the scene properly documented as part of standard investigative procedures.
After the preliminary examination, the body was evacuated to a hospital and deposited at the morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
Ayanlade clarified that the incident occurred in the Oguntula area of Ojoo, Ibadan, and not in Akobo, as initially reported by some media outlets.
