Suspected members of Boko Haram have overrun a military base in Garaha district, killing three soldiers and a civilian.
The attack occurred late Saturday night around 11:00 p.m. in Garaha district of Adamawa State. According to local sources, the insurgents stormed the community from multiple directions, firing sporadically before overpowering troops stationed at the military camp.
Residents described the assault as highly coordinated. In addition to seizing the base, the attackers reportedly set a primary school ablaze during the raid.
An eyewitness, Isaiah Yerima, said the soldiers attempted to repel the attackers but were taken by surprise. He explained that the insurgents ambushed the troops from the rear through the Lar axis, leading to the deaths of three personnel.
