One of the Africa best Musician Davido, has announced he is withdrawing from the ongoing custody battle with Sophia Momodu over their daughter, Imade, declaring that “nobody won, nobody lost but Imade.”
Davido, who has been in court with Momodu over the custody of their daughter, made the emotional disclosure in a strongly worded post following proceedings.
“I never asked for full custody … I asked for joint custody,” he stated, dismissing widespread claims that he had sought to take sole custody of Imade.
In a tone that mixed frustration with resolve, the singer rejected narratives suggesting there was any victor in the dispute.
“Nobody won, nobody lost but Imade … so I don’t know why some pple r celebrating.. there’s nothing to celebrate.”

He further revealed that he had decided to discontinue the case, citing what he described as a deeply personal and painful moment in court.
“I’ve decided to drop the case because when I was spanking that lawyer in the court room all .. she would get so frustrated .. because normally I finish school .. I was finishing her .. until she brought out her last card ! MY DECEASED SON ! THATS A NO NO ! Lowest blow!”
Davido has previously spoken publicly about the tragic loss of his son, a subject that remains sensitive and deeply personal.
Despite the legal tussle, the singer said his priority remains his daughter’s future and peace of mind.
“My daughter will grow up knowing I fought for her .. let’s move on, One love !”
The custody dispute between Davido and Momodu has drawn significant public attention, with supporters on both sides weighing in across social media.
