Davido Paternity Dispute: Mother Seeks Fresh DNA Test to Confirm Daughter’s Identity

Ayo Labinjoh, mother of teenager Anu Adeleke, has reignited the ongoing paternity controversy with Nigerian music star Davido, insisting that he is her daughter’s biological father and calling for a fresh, independently supervised DNA test.

The dispute resurfaced after Anu took to Instagram requesting a DNA test, revealing that she has faced years of bullying and emotional distress over claims that Davido is her father.

She described being mocked by classmates and struggling with her identity.
Davido, responding on X, denied the claims, stating that he had already undergone five DNA tests, all returning negative results.

According to him, three tests were conducted at hospitals of his choice, while two were arranged by Anu’s representatives. He also expressed frustration over the matter and said he would hold Anu’s mother accountable.

Labinjoh, however, rejected the singer’s account, citing irregularities with a 2014 DNA test in which she claims blood samples were discarded and results misrepresented.

She said her actions are primarily aimed at protecting her daughter’s mental health after years of alleged bullying, which led to crying spells, fainting at school, and psychotherapy.

The mother also alleged that Davido recently contacted her daughter directly, issuing threats and verbal abuse. “David chatted my daughter tonight threatening to lock me up, cursing Anu and repeatedly bullying her,” she said.

Labinjoh announced plans to seek international supervision for a new DNA test, stating, “David is a US citizen. I will request the US State Department to contact the Embassy in Lagos or Abuja to help us supervise and witness a clean independent DNA test.”

She emphasized that her fight is for her daughter’s right to know her identity, saying, “I’m not fighting for my daughter. My daughter is fighting for her identity.”
