A woman identified as Ramatu Abbas is expected to face court over her alleged involvement in an attack on a 17-year-old girl in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The teenager, Iwasen Terhemba, was reported to have sustained injuries following an altercation linked to a dispute involving the suspect’s husband.
According to information made available, the victim lives with her guardian, Jemila Savalla Wanga, and had allegedly been persistently approached by a married man identified as Mr. Abbas.
Sources said the minor declined the advances, citing her age and the man’s marital status.
The matter reportedly escalated after the man’s wife was informed of the alleged conduct.
It was gathered that there were exchanges of threats and verbal confrontations between the parties before the incident occurred.

In an effort to resolve the issue, the guardian was said to have approached Mrs. Abbas to clarify that the teenager was not involved in any relationship with her husband and to request that the man be cautioned.
However, the situation later degenerated, leading to an alleged physical confrontation at the residence of the teenager, during which she sustained injuries to her face.
Following the incident, the guardian alleged that she and the victim have received threats aimed at discouraging them from reporting the matter to law enforcement agencies.
Speaking with journalists, the guardian appealed to government authorities and relevant agencies to intervene, expressing concern for her safety and that of her children.
She also appealed for assistance with the medical care of the injured teenager, stating that she has been bearing the costs alone.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, Victor Mshelizah, said the police had taken statements from the parties involved and that the case file was being prepared for prosecution.
He explained that there had been attempts by some community members to resolve the matter outside legal channels but assured that the case would proceed in accordance with the law.
“The victim has reported to the police, and the necessary documentation is ongoing. The case will be charged to court once the process is concluded,” he said.
Police authorities reiterated their commitment to ensuring justice and protecting the rights of all parties involved.
