Scorer: Ismael Saibari (2′)

Morocco secured a vital 1-0 victory over Scotland at Boston Stadium, thanks to an early strike from Ismael Saibari that proved decisive.
The Atlas Lions needed just two minutes to break the deadlock. Saibari raced beyond the Scottish defence to meet a perfectly weighted pass from Brahim Diaz before firing emphatically past Angus Gunn and into the roof of the net.
The goal made history, becoming the fastest goal of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ so far and Morocco’s quickest ever strike at the tournament.
The win moves Morocco to four points and temporarily sends them to the top of Group C ahead of Brazil’s match in Philadelphia.
Morocco continued to threaten after the interval in an entertaining end-to-end contest. Saibari nearly doubled his tally when he met a low cross from Bilal El Khannouss, but his deflected effort crashed against the crossbar.

Moments later, El Khannouss came close himself, flicking an Achraf Hakimi corner towards goal, only for Gunn to produce another important save.
Scotland responded strongly in the closing stages. John McGinn, Ben Doak and Scott McTominay led a sustained push for an equaliser as the Tartan Army roared them forward. However, Morocco’s defence held firm under pressure, preserving a hard-fought victory and three crucial points in their World Cup campaign.
