Popular Nigerian social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has accused actress Mercy Johnson of bias following the arrest and detention of a TikTok content creator, Eedie Bliss, over alleged defamatory comments involving her family.
It would be recalled that unverified rumours surfaced online in December 2025 alleging that Mercy Johnson’s husband, Prince Henry Okojie, bought a mansion for another woman who was reportedly pregnant for him outside their marriage.
Reacting to the rumours, Eedie Bliss, while citing popular gossip blog Cutie Juls as her source, made further claims alleging that Mercy Johnson connived with the supposed mistress’ house help to cause a miscarriage.
Following the allegations, the TikTok creator was arrested and detained in Abuja after a petition was reportedly filed by Prince Henry Okojie.

The development sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians criticising the arrest and questioning why the content creator was targeted while the alleged originator of the rumour was not arrested.
Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan condemned the detention, describing it as biased and inappropriate. He argued that defamation is a civil matter and should be resolved through the courts rather than by involving law enforcement.
The activist further accused Mercy Johnson of hypocrisy, recalling that she previously described the arrest of Sammy, the brother of actress Regina Daniels, as unlawful when he was detained by Senator Ned Nwoko over defamation-related allegations.
VeryDarkMan also revealed that the detained TikTok creator is scheduled to get married on Saturday and threatened to involve his legal team if she is not released.
According to him, anyone who feels defamed should seek redress in court instead of using the police to intimidate individuals, stressing that Eedie Bliss clearly stated the source of her claims in her video.
