
Uche Ogbodo has spoken about the risks linked to Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery following the reported death of Jessica Elena.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, Ogbodo acknowledged that BBL procedures often raise safety concerns but stressed that all medical surgeries carry some level of risk. She advised anyone considering cosmetic surgery to carry out proper research, understand their body’s needs, and seek treatment from qualified and experienced surgeons.
The actress also highlighted the importance of proper aftercare, warning that infections after surgery can lead to serious health complications if not treated promptly.

Addressing criticism from some Nigerians who linked her past support for cosmetic surgery to the recent death, Ogbodo said that unfortunate incidents can happen with any medical procedure.
She said the loss of Jessica Elena was painful but urged people to avoid blaming the surgery alone, noting that complications can arise in many forms.
Ogbodo maintained that although BBL is considered a high-risk procedure, it is not inherently bad when done correctly. According to her, what matters most is proper education, choosing a qualified surgeon, and making the decision for the right reasons.
She also noted that cosmetic procedures, including BBL or a “mommy makeover,” can help some women regain confidence, particularly after childbirth when body changes may not be easily reversed through exercise alone.
