Popular Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, has blamed men for the high rate of failed marriages, claiming they play a dominant role in the collapse of many unions.
The actress made the assertion in a post shared on her Instagram page, where she stated that men contribute up to 95 per cent to marital breakdowns.
According to her, common issues such as neglect, infidelity, emotional abuse and lack of value for their spouses are major factors responsible for the trend.
Ogbodo argued that many women endure emotional stress and betrayal in their marriages, adding that the absence of accountability among men often worsens the situation.

“Men contribute 95 per cent in failed marriages,” she wrote. “Many marriages fail because a significant number of men neglect, cheat, devalue, emotionally harm, emotionally stress, or betray their wives.”
She further noted that society’s tendency to excuse certain behaviours encourages the cycle to continue.
The actress, who is currently in her second marriage, tied the knot with her partner, Bobby Maris, in October 2023.
Her first marriage to Norway-based football agent, Ato Ubby, in 2013 ended barely a year after it was contracted.
Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users supporting her stance while others maintain that both partners share responsibility in a failed marriage.
