Terrorists have kidnapped students and staff from St. Mary’s School, a Catholic institution in Papiri community, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The total number of those abducted is yet to be confirmed, as the school is still compiling its records.
A source confirmed on Friday that the incident is true but declined to provide further details, noting that an official statement from the church would follow.
Attempts to reach the Niger State Police Command for comment were unsuccessful, and the command’s spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached.
This latest abduction comes days after terrorists targeted a government school in Kebbi State, taking at least 25 students, highlighting ongoing security challenges for schools in northern Nigeria.
