A fresh face-off is brewing within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as expelled members prepare to hold an emergency meeting at the party’s National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The PDP on Saturday suspended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, and other members aligned with the former Rivers Governor. The expulsions were declared at the recently concluded National Elective Convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A notice released on Monday by the factional National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu, called for an emergency meeting just 48 hours after the members’ expulsion. The notice, seen by sources, urged members of the National Executive Council (NEC) and the Board of Trustees (BoT) to attend the meeting set for Tuesday.
It stated “attendance is highly encouraged, as key issues will be discussed and important decisions made.”
