The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Benin Zonal Directorate, has arrested a suspected football scammer, Osagie Destiny Etinosa, over an alleged fraud involving N11 million.
According to the EFCC, the suspect used his Instagram account, @officialking_etto, to present himself as a football agent, promising to connect Nigerian players with foreign clubs for trials and recruitment.
In one reported case, Etinosa allegedly collected N11 million from a player, Samuel Beke Ohazuruike, promising to secure trials in Romanian and Bulgarian football clubs.

The promised opportunities, however, never materialized, and efforts by the victim to recover the funds were unsuccessful.
The Commission confirmed that Etinosa was apprehended through open-source intelligence and will soon be charged to court.
EFCC officials have warned the public to exercise caution when engaging with individuals claiming to be sports agents, especially those soliciting large sums of money online.
