Stop the Political Distractions, Lagos APC Warns Obi, ADC

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticised opposition parties, warning them against what it described as deliberate attempts to distract President Bola Tinubu from addressing national challenges.

APC Lagos spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, said the opposition is engaging in needless political drama instead of focusing on meaningful contributions.

His statement followed the African Democratic Congress (ADC)’s remarks urging former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to decide on his political direction ahead of 2027.

Oladejo stressed that the ruling party is not in a hurry to begin electioneering, adding that its achievements in infrastructure, security, economy, education, health, and national reforms will speak for themselves when the time comes.

According to him, the opposition has been offering “recycled slogans and empty promises” that Nigerians have grown tired of.

He stated that while opposition parties remain divided and embroiled in internal clashes, the APC is concentrating on governance, economic recovery, security stability, and national development under Tinubu’s leadership.

Oladejo also took a swipe at Obi, accusing him of adopting a political strategy that relies on waiting for weakened parties to hand him presidential tickets.

He likened Obi’s approach to a “panther waiting for distressed parties to strike when desperation sets in,” describing it as a political lottery rather than genuine organisation.

He concluded that the growing disagreement between ADC and Obi reflects deeper confusion within the opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
