The Nigeria Police Force has commenced an investigation into controversial Nigerian relationship therapist Blessing CEO following a petition filed by social media critic VeryDarkMan.
The development comes after Blessing CEO sparked widespread reactions online when she claimed in a viral video shared on March 25, 2026, that she was battling stage four cancer.
In the emotional clip, she appeared tearful and pointed to her hair loss as part of the illness, while also announcing plans to sell some of her properties to fund treatment.
However, the situation quickly took a controversial turn after the Nigerian Medical Association (Delta State chapter) disowned a medical report circulating online in support of her claim.
The association alleged that the document had been altered from an original histology report belonging to another patient diagnosed with breast cancer.

Amid growing backlash and accusations of deception, Blessing CEO later admitted that she did not have stage four cancer, describing the earlier claim as a “miscommunication.”
She also disclosed that she received about ₦13 million in donations before deactivating her social media accounts.
Reacting to the incident, VeryDarkMan revealed that he filed a petition with the police after personally donating money to her.
He said he was moved by compassion after watching her video, particularly when she shaved her hair.
“I believed her and even sent money despite not having much at the time,” he said, expressing disappointment over what he described as a misuse of public sympathy.
He added that many Nigerians genuinely battling serious illnesses deserve support and should not be overshadowed by false claims.
According to him, the Inspector General of Police has approved the petition and directed that a full investigation be carried out.
The case has continued to generate debate on social media, with many calling for accountability and stricter consequences for misinformation, especially on sensitive health issues.
