The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the killing of several suspected bandits and the recovery of 30 assorted firearms during a series of coordinated security operations across parts of Kaduna State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, the operations were carried out by tactical teams deployed to flashpoints in the state following credible intelligence on the movement of armed criminal groups terrorising rural communities.
The raids targeted forest hideouts and suspected transit routes commonly used by bandits to launch attacks on villages and highways.
During the encounters, the police engaged the suspects in gun battles, leading to the neutralisation of several bandits.
A cache of weapons was recovered from the scenes, including AK-47 rifles, locally fabricated guns, magazines, and large quantities of ammunition.
The police said the recovery would significantly weaken the operational capacity of criminal gangs in the area.
The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State praised the officers for their professionalism and bravery, noting that no civilian casualties were recorded during the operations.
