
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested three individuals over the alleged attack and disarming of a female officer in Ondo State.
The suspects, identified as Amos Ajemigi, Tari Ofoezu and Lots Alonge, were accused of assaulting Inspector Ige Olayinka and forcefully taking her service riot gun alongside other personal belongings.
Inspector Olayinka, attached to the Okitipupa Area Command, was reportedly on official duty in the Agadagba community when the incident occurred.
She had been deployed to the area to handle a petition referred for investigation before she was allegedly attacked by a group of individuals.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, described the incident as an affront to constituted authority and a threat to public order.
Jimoh stated that the arrests were made following a swift, intelligence-driven operation by police operatives in response to the attack.
Preliminary findings, he added, revealed that the officer was violently assaulted while carrying out her lawful assignment.
The command reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on any form of violence against law enforcement personnel, warning that those found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
