
The Yobe State Police Command has arrested an 18-year-old housewife for allegedly mutilating her husband’s genitals during a domestic dispute in Potiskum Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, which reportedly occurred on Friday, left the victim in critical condition and prompted swift intervention by security operatives.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson of the Yobe State Police Command, Dungus Abdulkarim, said officers responded to a distress call after receiving information that a man was found severely injured inside his residence.
According to Abdulkarim, the police arrived at the scene and discovered the victim lying unconscious in his room. He was immediately rushed to a nearby clinic for emergency treatment before being referred to the Azare Medical Centre for further medical attention.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the suspect fled the scene after the incident but was tracked and arrested by operatives on Monday.
He added that preliminary investigations indicate that the victim identified his wife as the alleged attacker, although he has not been able to give a detailed statement due to the severity of his injuries.
Abdulkarim assured that investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, noting that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
