Super Striker: Victor Osimhen
Victor Osimhen is determined to return to action as quickly as possible after undergoing surgery, with his sights firmly set on helping Galatasaray secure the Turkish Super Lig title this season.
The Nigerian striker had a successful operation on Monday at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital following an arm injury sustained during a UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool FC at Anfield.
Club officials confirmed that the procedure went well, and the 27-year-old was discharged a day later. He is now under close medical supervision as he begins his recovery process.
Osimhen is expected to spend around six weeks on the sidelines, a period that could see him miss several crucial league and cup fixtures.
However, reports in Turkish media suggest he could make an earlier-than-expected return, potentially featuring in the high-stakes Istanbul derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26.
The derby could prove decisive in the title race, with Galatasaray currently holding a four-point lead at the top of the table and a game in hand. Despite his temporary setback, Osimhen remains confident in the team’s ability to clinch what would be their 26th league title.

If his recovery takes longer than anticipated, the striker may only return for the final stretch of the season, including matches against Antalyaspor and Kasımpaşa.
Beyond the league, Osimhen will also be hoping to play a role if Galatasaray advance further in the Turkish Cup, where they are currently set to face Gençlerbirliği in the quarter-finals.
Before his injury, the forward had been in exceptional form, registering 19 goals and seven assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
He also contributed seven goals and three assists in 10 Champions League matches prior to the club’s exit.
With the title race heating up, Galatasaray will be counting on their star striker’s timely return to seal another historic triumph.
