The Ogun State Police Command has released TikTok influencer Abigeal Nsikak, popularly known as Mirabel, to the State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development after she voluntarily reported a widely publicized rape allegation.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police spokesperson, confirmed that Mirabel visited the station of her own accord, underwent a full medical examination, and has been cooperating with investigators.
“In consideration of her welfare, she has been released to the Ministry, which will ensure her availability for further investigations,” he stated.

The case gained national attention when Mirabel shared emotional videos on TikTok in mid-February, alleging a home invasion and sexual assault at her Ogijo residence.
The posts triggered public outrage, celebrity reactions, and donations. However, inconsistencies, such as missing phone records and no evidence of a break-in, led to online scrutiny, and Mirabel later suggested she might not have been raped.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues. The Ogun State Police emphasized their commitment to handling reports of sexual violence with professionalism, sensitivity, and fairness, while urging the public to avoid speculation.
