
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man, Gafaru Rasaki, for allegedly exhuming human remains from a cemetery in Sagamu and being found in possession of four human heads.
DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the command’s spokesperson, stated that operatives of the Shakura Police Division apprehended Rasaki on January 21, 2026.
“Upon interrogation and thorough investigation, it was revealed that the suspect unlawfully exhumed the human remains from a cemetery,” he said.

Describing the act as a “serious violation of the law and a blatant disregard for human dignity,” Babaseyi confirmed that the exhibits have been secured.
He added that Rasaki would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
The police reiterated their commitment to protecting public safety and warned that anyone found desecrating human remains would face the full weight of the law.
