The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced Wednesday, November 26, 2025, as the kickoff date for the 2025/2026 season.
The disclosure came on Wednesday in Port Harcourt at the conclusion of the NWFL’s Annual General Assembly. According to the league body, the upcoming season will adopt a two-group format.
A total of 20 teams are set to compete in the 2025/26 campaign, with defending champions Bayelsa Queens placed in Group A and last season’s runners-up Nasarawa Amazons slotting into Group B.
Sunshine Queens, Castmog Ladies, Imo Queens and Ahudiyaannem Queens will make their first-ever appearance in the NWFL this season, stepping into the league for their debut campaign.
