
The Niger State Police Command has arrested a nursing student, Stella Joseph, in connection with the sudden death of Otori Abdulfatai Aiyede, a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
Reports indicate that the lecturer travelled from Bida to Minna on January 27 and visited Stella at her residence along Niteco Road in the Tunga area of Minna.
During the visit, he was allegedly served a meal.
Shortly after eating, the lecturer reportedly began to convulse and collapsed. He was rushed to the General Hospital in Minna, where he was confirmed dead on arrival.
Initial reports caused confusion about the institution where the deceased lectured, with claims linking him to a private university in Minna. However, further findings confirmed that he was a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.

Confirming the incident, the police said Stella Joseph was taken into custody while the deceased’s body was deposited for medical examination to determine the cause of death. The families involved have been notified, and investigations are ongoing.
