Nnadozie Chiamaka
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named in the Women’s Super League Team of the Week for Gameweek 19, as selected by Sky Sports pundit Izzy Christiansen.
The recognition follows Nnadozie’s standout performance in Brighton & Hove Albion’s 1–0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
The 25-year-old delivered a commanding display, securing her sixth clean sheet of the season and playing a decisive role in preserving the victory.
She reacted quickly early in the match to deny Shannon O’Brien and later showed composure with a crucial intervention from a late corner, ensuring Brighton held on to their narrow lead.
Nnadozie’s inclusion places her among some of the league’s top performers. The defensive lineup features Manchester City duo Alex Greenwood and Rebecca Knaak, alongside Aston Villa’s Lynn Wilms.
In midfield, the team includes Lauren Hemp, Sjoeke Nüsken of Chelsea, Tottenham’s Signe Gaupset, and Liverpool’s Ceri Holland.

The attacking trio comprises Aston Villa’s Kirsty Hanson, Arsenal’s Alessia Russo, and Chelsea’s Lauren James, while Manchester City coach Andrée Jeglertz was named manager of the week.
Nnadozie’s selection highlights her growing influence in the league this season. She currently boasts the best save percentage in the WSL at 75.7%, ranks third in saves per 90 minutes with 3.30, and leads all goalkeepers in goals prevented with 3.40.
Her six clean sheets place her joint second overall, just behind Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton.
Off the pitch, the Nigerian international has also expressed disappointment over the postponement of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, which has been rescheduled from March to July.
“We, the players, are not happy that the WAFCON was postponed. We were preparing hard for it,” she said.
