Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has dismissed speculations suggesting that she secretly got married.
Rumours had circulated that the “Maradona” hitmaker’s withdrawal from the public eye was due to a private marriage arrangement.
However, in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Niniola clarified that she is not married.
“I don’t care whatever anyone says or does regarding my personal life. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married,” the 38-year-old singer stated.
She also debunked claims that she was keeping her marriage secret to avoid any negative impact on her career or bookings.
Niniola further explained why she has yet to collaborate with her younger sister and fellow artiste, Teni, noting that such a partnership would happen when the timing is right.
According to her, music is strictly business, and there is no family sentiment in business decisions.
“Music is business, and there is no family in business. It has to happen at the right time,” she added.
