
Troops under Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected informant linked to both Islamic State West Africa Province and Boko Haram in Gombi, Adamawa State.
The operation, carried out alongside local hunters and members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, followed credible intelligence reports about insurgent movements within the 232 Battalion’s area of responsibility.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, troops launched a targeted surveillance operation around key access routes and communities suspected of serving as infiltration points.

The suspect, Abdullahi Umar, 25, was reportedly tracked after exhibiting suspicious movements consistent with reconnaissance activities.
Security operatives monitored his movements ppppbefore moving in to apprehend him without resistance during a coordinated sweep in the area.
Preliminary findings indicate that Umar, a native of Gwoza, had been assigned to monitor military routes and installations, gathering strategic information to aid planned attacks on troops.
Security sources also revealed that he confessed to participating in a recent assault on soldiers in Ngoshe, further linking him to ongoing terrorist operations in the region.
He is currently in military custody as investigations continue, with authorities working to uncover more details about the network behind his activities.
