A 27-year-old Nigerian man has been sentenced to six years in prison in the United Kingdom after being convicted of sexually assaulting two women on a commuter train.
According to court proceedings, the incidents occurred during a journey from Shenfield to Chelmsford, where the suspect lured a 21-year-old woman into a train toilet and carried out a sexual assault.
Moments later, he approached a 17-year-old girl, exposing himself and attempting to assault her before intervention by another passenger prevented further harm.
The train was immediately stopped at the next station, and the man was arrested by police, who described the attacks as calculated and opportunistic. Both victims were left deeply traumatised by the ordeal.

During sentencing, the judge emphasized the seriousness of the crimes, noting that the attacks on two young women in a confined public space demonstrated a disregard for the safety and dignity of others.
In addition to the prison term, the man was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restricting him from accessing public transport while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Authorities praised the quick actions of train staff and passengers, highlighting how prompt intervention played a critical role in preventing further assaults.
Police also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior on public transport.
The sentence underscores the UK’s commitment to protecting victims of sexual assault and ensuring that perpetrators face significant consequences for their actions.
