American rapper Nicki Minaj has threatened legal action against Nigerian influencer Dr Penking over allegations of cyberbullying and copyright infringement.
The dispute began after Penking shared an old video of the rapper on X (formerly Twitter) with a caption suggesting that Minaj had “gotten old” and should retire.
Minaj reacted strongly to the post, questioning whether Penking had permission to use the video and accusing him of harassment. She warned that he could face legal consequences for sharing the clip.

In her response, the rapper wrote that the video had been filmed years earlier and asked if he had the right to repost it online to target her, adding that he had now been “added to the suit.”
Penking, however, defended his actions, arguing that he was simply expressing his opinion. He maintained that the video is publicly available and that his comments fall under freedom of speech.
In a follow-up post, the influencer said he and his team were prepared for any legal action, insisting that calling the 43-year-old rapper old or suggesting retirement was not harassment but a personal opinion.
He also stated that he would not be intimidated by celebrities and would continue to exercise his right to free expression.
