Senator Natasha Akpoti, who represents Kogi Central, has claimed that authorities are withholding her international passport.
The lawmaker claimed in a live Facebook broadcast on Tuesday morning that she had been prevented from traveling.
According to her, “After celebrating my second anniversary, I decided to take a week off, but my passport has been withheld once again—the same thing that happened before. I have committed no offense, and there is no court order authorizing the seizure of my passport or preventing me from traveling.”
She claimed that the last time her passport was withheld, the officer in charge informed her that it was on the instructions of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who allegedly directed that she be prevented from traveling.
