The Niger Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) DSC Ibrahim Rabiu has been stabbed by hoodlums in Minna.
Rabiu was stabbed in a tricycle also known as Keke Napep while returning home from work on Friday night.
Recounting the incident, Rabiu said the incident occured at about 8pm around the Federal Housing Estate in Gbeganu, a suburb in Minna.
He said that he was attacked inside the tricycle by nine of the hoodlums armed with knives, cutlasses, dagger and sticks and stabbed twice on his stomach adding that his uniform stopped the hoodlums from killing him.
“I was inside the tricycle after other passengers dropped when we got to a place where two people wanted to enter and suddenly, these boys rushed out of the nearby bush and attacked me. I was stabbed with knife and they took away my phone and other valuables.
” It was while searching me that one of the hoodlum discovered my uniform trousers and notified others that I am a uniform man. That was how I was abandoned with my injuries until help came,” he stated.
He said that he has been discharged from the hospital and responding to treatment at home as of the time of filing the report.
