A Lagos-based content creator has come forward with disturbing claims of assault after allegedly falling victim to a fake modelling invitation in the city.
According to her account, she was contacted online by an individual who claimed to represent a modelling agency seeking fresh faces for a promotional campaign.
The offer, which promised good pay and exposure, reportedly appeared legitimate, with professional-looking messages and assurances of a safe, private audition.
She said she was asked to attend a “casting session” at a location in Lagos that was presented as a temporary studio space.
However, upon arrival, she allegedly discovered that the setting was not what had been described. The content creator claimed that the situation quickly turned uncomfortable and later escalated into an assault.

The incident has since sparked conversations about the rising cases of fake job and modelling scams targeting young creatives and aspiring influencers in Lagos.
Many industry professionals have warned that fraudsters often exploit social media platforms to lure victims with promises of fame, brand deals, or lucrative contracts.
The content creator is said to have reported the matter to the appropriate authorities, calling for a thorough investigation and justice.
She also urged fellow creatives to verify agencies, avoid isolated meeting locations, and inform trusted contacts before attending any physical auditions.
As the story unfolds, the case highlights growing concerns about safety within Nigeria’s expanding digital and entertainment space, where opportunity and risk often exist side by side.
